Tenure Track/Tenured Faculty Position

The Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences anticipates a faculty position, rank open, in the Center for Atmosphere Ocean Science (http://caos.cims.nyu.edu). The appointment is to begin Fall 2010, pending budgetary and administrative approval. Applicants should have outstanding research accomplishments, diverse research interests, and mathematical expertise in fundamental areas of atmospheric and/or oceanic science. An interest in and ability to work closely with applied mathematicians is crucial. Possible research areas include atmosphere-ocean coupling, mid-latitude dynamics, theoretical glaciology, stochastic parameterization, and climate variability, but all exceptional applicants will be considered.
