Local behaviour in turbulence

Turbulent flow is found everywhere in the ocean and is crucial in understanding energy transfer across scales. Typical studies of turbulence don’t describe local information about energy at different scales which may be important, and useful in the ocean given that different regions have drastically different dynamics. In this talk I’ll give a brief overview of turbulence along with presenting a fairly recent method for looking at local turbulent interactions.
