Atmosphere Ocean Science Friday Seminar
Graph Neural Networks for Subgrid Scale Modeling Across Resolutions
Speaker: Adam Subel, CAOS
Location: Warren Weaver Hall 1314
Date: Friday, December 2, 2022, 4 p.m.
Synopsis:
For this talk, I will spend the first half going over the methodology and decision involved in computing subgrid forcings, specifically challenges arising from taking data from the ocean component of CM2.6 (MOM5). I will then discuss graph neural networks (GNNs) as a way of representing arbitrary grids and present recent results (past few days) for predicting the computed forcings with a variety of methods.
